Minor Modification for Savage

久々のサベージ改造です。前にも述べたとおりスロットルの開度を全開に出来ないので、現行サーボで最強トルク（だと思う）のHITEC HS-5955TGに変更です。ついでにステアリングサーボもこいつに変更しました。また、メカボックスを現行Savage X用に取り替えました。説明書は一切ありませんが何とかなりました。ちなみにネット情報でNo.85236 メカボックスセットとNo.87027ラバーキャップが必要とあったのですが、実際はラバーキャップはメカボックスセットに含まれていました。

I haven’t got a touch with Savage long time, as I blogged before that a throttle linkage for OS 30 VG twin did not move smoothly, I thought a cause of athe unsmooth movement was weak torque of a throttle servo, this is why I changed the throttle servo as well as a steering servo to HITEC made HS-5955TG. Also a radio box has been replaced with new one which is for new Savage X. There is no instruction manual but I could change it anyway. I got some information from internet forum about this replacement that a rubber cap is not included in the new radio box kit, however a rubber cap is included, so it need not buy spare rubber caps.

折角HITECの強力トルクサーボにしたのに相変わらずのスロットルの緩慢な動き...よくよく純正のサーボホーンを見たら金色のメタルの部分がサーボの動きに追従せずに曲がってしまっている為にスロットル開度が全開になっていなかったのでした。そこで、京商ハチイチバギー用の部品とそこらにころがっていたリンケージセットを組み合わせて写真のようにダイレクトにスロットル操作をするように改造しました。その結果30VGツインのスロットルを余裕で操作出来る様になりました。というか、これを先にやっておけばHITECのサーボに交換しなくてもよかったかも。

Although I have changed the servo, the throttle linkage movement is still unsmooth… I just had a look at the movement carefully then I was aware it that a gold component, which is a part of genuine servo horn, could not work properly i.e. it’s too elastic and cannot transfer properly an action of the servo to the throttle valve. At this, I modified the servo horn and the throttle to use a linkage kit from Kyosho for 1/8 buggy as the picture shown, so now the throttle movement is very smooth… Probably it need not change the servo if I did carry out the linkage and servo horn modification firstly.

サベージにLST用のサスを取り付けた写真を以前ネット上で見て、いつかやってみたいなぁと思っていました。という事でロッシLST用のショック、IntegyのMSR6 LST用をサベージに装着です。かなりデカイです。大きすぎてフロント側が標準トーインではタイヤに干渉しハンドル切れません。次回の課題です。

These shock absorber are MSR6 for LST from Integy, it is huge! well... actually too big and a wheel touches with the absorber. Will modify it in the future.
